In this blog I’ll tell you a little bit about me personally and tell you how Operation Rooster was born. If you don’t care who I am (and I don’t blame you if you don’t care) then stop reading now. But, if you are interested in learning more about me, then keep on reading.
For those of you that don’t know, my name is Tim. I was born on June 16th, 1980. I currently live in Cleveland, Ohio where I have lived my whole life.
Hockey is my favorite sport. I like the Columbus Blue Jackets and Pittsburgh Penguins. Baseball is my second favorite sport. The Cleveland Indians are my favorite team, but I also like the Chicago Cubs. I also like football, pro and college. The Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes are my favorite teams.
I love listening to music. I like 90′s alternative, hard rock, country, metal, and punk. Some of my favorite bands are: Breaking Benjamin, Godsmack, Disturbed, Nirvana, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, and Metallica.
I love TV. I like to watch: hockey, baseball, football, glenn beck, poker, mythbusters, family guy, simpsons, 24, prison break, married with children, the daily show, the colbert report, futurama, the late show with david letterman, late night with conan o’brien, beavis and butthead, hard times (rock videos), baseball tonight, mad money, that 70′s show, south park, chappelle’s show, mind of mencia, mxc, maximum exposure, the oblongs, heroes, the office, scrubs, and various shows on the history channel and discovery channel.
Like for many people 9/11 greatly affected me. That was really my first time experiencing death. Before that I didn’t have anyone close to me ever die. I didn’t know anyone that died that day, but I did watch the entire day on TV. If you go to my 9/11 tribute site (Tim’s 9/11 Tribute at http://www.myspace.com/tims911tribute) I have a blog where I describe that day and the following days, including my thoughts and feelings at the time. Before 9/11 I didn’t follow politics or current events a bit. I couldn’t care less what was going on in the Middle East, or any where else. After 9/11 I started to pay closer attention. Not nearly as much as I do today, but more than before. After 9/11 I also started to appreciate our military. That appreciation has been growing since.
That brings me to June 2006. After nearly five years of paying attention to current event and politics only through the main stream media I was becoming liberal in my thoughts. I didn’t vote for George W. Bush in 2000 or 2004. I was starting to wonder why we were in Iraq. I started to think it was just for oil or because “W” was getting revenge because Saddam wanted to kill his daddy.
But, it was at this time where I found an old co-worker on Myspace that I had not talked to in about six years. I asked her what TV shows she watched. She told me I had to check out Glenn Beck on Headline News and listen to him on the radio. In July 2006 I started watching Glenn and was hooked. I couldn’t believe the things I was finding out on his show that I wasn’t hearing any where else. I started listening to his radio show in September 2006. While listening to Glenn I found out more and more about what was going on in the world, and I got more and more concerned. People would call in to Glenn’s radio show and ask “I got this information from you, what can I do?” He said to spread the word about the perfect storm. So, I launched a Myspace page on 10/25/2006 whose name eventually became Operation Rooster.
I now watch and listen to Glenn Beck everyday. He is the reason why Operation Rooster exists. He opened my eyes to what was and is going on in this world. He set me on a path that has led to the conservative views I know have. Any success Operation Rooster has I contribute to Glenn. I’m also a Glenn Beck Insider. I have been an Insider since December 2006.
Well, that pretty much covers the basics, and now you know a little bit about the man behind Operation Rooster. As always, thank you all very much for the messages, comments, and overall support.
